A Day in the life of a Busy Wedding Car and its Owner!
It all started so Well?
It was a really nice Saturday morning, early start up with the birds as they say, it was a bit of an unusual beginning to the day in the UK England as of late we have not had any real good weather to shout about.
Picture the scene, 18 degree outside and a gleaming Mercedes Wedding Car stood in the driveway looking as proud as they come. The final touch’s are required to the immaculate E Class, a quick freshen up inside and the Silver Beauty is ready to roll.
The final step in the process is to fit the ribbons to the bonnet and the specially made silk door bow’s; the Silver Wedding Car is now in its full splendour, what in the world could go wrong?
Well I omitted tell mention the it was late July and we should be looking forward to our beautiful summer, which in truth over the past few years we have not had great or prolonged summers, anyway I digress, the wedding was at 1oclock and roughly 45 mins away from my home base, so I rang my co-pilot as this is a 2 car wedding and my friend Trevor on this occasion is the lead car, he has a very special American Chrysler 300c in gleaming silver which has been modified to look like a Baby Bentley, and boy it looks Fantastic. Time fly’s and I must move, we had arranged to meet up at Trevor’s which is 20 mins away from my home and then again an hour to the Bride’s home, as I am driving over there the cloud’s in the distance are looking a bit angry and ready to spoil the Big Day?

Well 5 mins into the journey to the Bride’s house yep you guessed it the heavens opened, anyways we get to the brides house slightly early so we parked up round the corner to wait a few minuets, as we do there is a break in the rain, great that’s our signal lets make run for it and we are outside, we both jump out, the bride lived one side of the street the groom the other, perfect we all in and off to the church, by this time the heavens have got so angry it was raining and we could hardly see where we were going, then Fork Lightning of which I personally have never seen anything like it in my life (54yrs old) well we are outside the church and its so heavy you cant see a thing but the Show must go on, so brollies at the ready and we get them into the church, superb you might think? Oh No.
As we drive away from the church to grab a cup a tea at the nearby shopping mall the lightning is reaching fever pitch and the noise is unbelievable.

We were asked to return to the church in 45mins, so we get into the church to find out they had got 5mins into the service the lights, organ, and music had been knocked out by the lightning.
Well they didn’t let it spoil the day and put it down to “well I bet that doesn’t happen to too many people” sort of day.
Well you could say they will hold this moment in time for more reasons than getting married?
A Day they will Never Forget.
